Hello everyone!
I just thought I would blog and share what happened today. I needed some new towels for the bathroom so I went to Linen's 'n' Things. While wandering through the lush jungle of comforters and shower curtains I stumbled upon a clearance rack. Usually those little cart's have products that have been opened and returned, or some type of noticeable flaw - so I walk right by without even glancing at it. Today, however, a glimpse of royal purple caught my eye. Tucked underneath an incredibly ugly pink comforter was a queen sized set of 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. They were neatly folded and looked like they had never been out of the package. Being a single mother I don't typically spend a lot of money on things I can do without. But today I couldn't resist slipping my fingers into the package and touching the fabric. So soft - even before they were washed! I assumed there was probably some mistake but checked the package for the clearance sticker anyways. Lo and behold, there it was! Completely affordable and too tempting to resist. I was so excited that I purchased them and left. I didn't think twice about the towels I had gone there for in the first place. Oh well... I guess I will have to go back tomorrow - and you can bet I'll be checking that clearance rack again.

Online Student
Hello everyone!
I don't know about the rest of you but I love taking my classes online. I feel that I am allowed to learn at my own pace and spend as much time as I need on any particular subject. I was very nervous when I first started because I wasn't sure how the classes would work, or how everything could be completed in just 10 weeks. In my first term, while taking Academic Strategies for the Health Care Profession, I discovered that I am mostly a visual learner. Online classes cater to my learning style!
I am happy to say that so far I am a straight A student! I think it would have been more difficult for me to learn in a traditional environment. I find that I am very easily distracted when surrounded by people, and with a class full of them, there are plenty of distractions.
I think my success thus far also has to do with being 'ready'. My first time through college I was younger and hadn't thought very much about the classes I was taking, or where my life was going. One day I woke up with the thought, "After graduation I will wake up every day and have to do this". I panicked and decided I would take a year off to just work and think about what I wanted to do. One year turned into two, then three... I think you know where I'm going with this. :) When I was finally ready to go back to school I was receiving a lot of e-mails about online learning and figured I would give it shot. I did some research and decided Kaplan was the way to go. It has been a wonderful experience so far.
One thing I really like and would like to see in more classes are the flex seminars. Basically there are two or three seminars a week at different times, and you are able to pick which one fits into your schedule. One week you could go on Wednesday at 7pm, and the next you could go on Friday at 1pm. Of course there are multiple instructors, and a lot of students, so I imagine those are only available in the more general type of classes.
Yay for online students!

Welcome!
Hello everyone!
Blogging for this class is going to be really fun! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I plan to! :)
It is Saturday night and I just had a fun evening playing board games with my kids! I have 8 year old twins; a boy and a girl (I was lucky lol). We played Operation, Blokus, and Spongebob Uno! We had a ton of fun. They love board and card games.
Below is a picture of my adorable rugrats, Dade and Desirae...

Every year for Christmas my siblings and I get all our kids together and pick a theme for family pictures. Then we usually make our Christmas cards with the pictures we take. This year it was feety pajamas! :D
It is hard to believe they are already 8... /sniffle.
Anyways, I'm really looking forward to reading everyone's blogs!
